My Journey Began and then life happened
My name is Marion Locke, and up until three years ago was living very much an ordinary life, a life much the same as many. So, seeing me on a website is quite surreal and admittedly I am completely out of my comfort zone. What I can tell you, is that I am so passionate about weight loss and my multiple sclerosis journey that I am willing to break boundaries, lay myself and my past open to all, and in doing so, place myself in unchartered and foreign territory.
In 2010 I weighed an astounding 108 kilograms.I spent years attempting all types of diets, pills, shakes, whatever the market offered, I was willing to try it out.Every one of my attempts failed and over the years I continued gaining weight. In 2013 I decided that I was so unhappy with my image not to mention my self confidence which was at an all time low, that I made a life-changing decision to embark on a new attitude, not a new diet.
My attitude towards weight loss had an incredible effect on my willpower which up until that point had been non-existent.However, as all stories are, there came a twist a few months later, when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, an incurable autoimmune disease.
I have found the strength and courage to continue with my weight loss, face my illness and am living the most incredible life despite my circumstances. After my diagnosis however, the questions about my disease kept plaguing me and it was then that I made a decision to embark on writing a book. The book was to be from my birth right up to my diagnosis to see if there was an event or illness that may have made me more susceptible to developing Multiple Sclerosis.I made many discoveries along the way and share with everyone my life struggles, fears, joys and accomplishments in the hopes of finding some answers.
Honestly, after completing my book, I am not sure that I found the answers I was seeking. What I can tell you is that I found this incredibly brave and strong woman that up until that point of her life had been silent. The woman you see now is silent no more. She has a voice and a will to make a difference and all she now has to do is help others face their challenges and realise their potential.
